1. Introduction

• Welcome to Crank Tours. By booking a tour with us, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.

2. Booking and Payment

• A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, due within 48 hours of your booking confirmation.
• The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 30 days before the tour start date.
• Bookings made within 30 days of the tour start date require full payment upfront.
• Prices are subject to change based on availability and operational costs; the price confirmed at the time of your deposit is the price you pay.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

• Cancellations made more than 30 days before the tour start date will receive a 50% refund of amounts paid.
• Cancellations made less than 30 days before the tour start date are non-refundable.
• If a tour is cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. extreme weather, insufficient group numbers), we will offer a credit or an alternative date wherever possible.
• Refunds are subject to the cancellation terms of our operating partners and may take up to 14 days to process.

4. Our Role and Tour Operations

• Crank Tours’ 3-Night Tsitsikamma MTB Tour is delivered in partnership with Tour de Tsitsikamma and MTO Trails, who provide guiding, accommodation, and on-trail logistics along the route.
• Crank Tours manages your booking, payment, and communication; our operating partners are responsible for delivering the tour itself.
• We only work with partners we trust to meet the standard of experience described on our website.

5. Safety and Liability

• Riders participate at their own risk.
• Helmets are mandatory at all times while riding.
• Neither Crank Tours nor our operating partners are responsible for injuries, accidents, or loss of property during the tour, except where caused by their negligence.
• Participants must disclose any medical conditions relevant to their safety on tour at the time of booking.
• We strongly recommend that all participants have travel insurance covering medical emergencies and trip cancellation.

6. Equipment and Rentals

• Participants are responsible for their own bikes and gear, unless renting through Crank Tours or an approved partner.
• E-bike rentals must be booked in advance and are subject to availability; standard rental terms (ID, refundable deposit, damage liability) apply as set out on our E-Bike Rentals page.

7. Accommodation and Meals

• Accommodation is provided in eco-friendly tented camps along the route.
• Meals include breakfast, dinner, on-trail lunches, and snacks for the duration of the tour.
• Special dietary requirements must be communicated at the time of booking.

8. Changes to Itinerary

• The tour route and schedule are subject to change due to weather conditions or other logistical considerations, at the discretion of our guides.

9. Age Restrictions

• Riders under 16 may join by prior arrangement only. We do not accept riders under 12.

10. Code of Conduct

• Participants must respect nature, local communities, fellow riders, and guides.
• Littering, reckless riding, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the tour without refund.

11. Governing Law

• These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
